Gianluca at GD Kitchens & Carpentry fits kitchens across Bristol, from IKEA flat packs to painted shaker islands, plus worktops, sinks, tiles, doors, skirting and bespoke carpentry.
GD Kitchens & Carpentry is Gianluca, a kitchen fitter and carpenter in Bristol. He fits whole kitchens, islands, worktops and sinks, and handles the carpentry around them, from internal doors and skirting to bespoke furniture and room conversions.
Older houses are rarely level, and that is where he shines. One customer gave him a room that "wasn't square or level" and a kitchen with no instructions, and he "took it in his stride." As they put it: "If Gianluca hasn't fitted your kitchen, I would question if it's been fitted right."
Complete kitchen installations, including IKEA and supplier kitchens that arrive without fitting instructions. Units are levelled and lined up carefully, even when the walls and floors are not straight, so doors and drawers close perfectly for years.
Islands and breakfast bars built in as part of the kitchen, with hobs, sinks, drawers and seating. Recent work includes a terracotta island under a vaulted roof and a dark green island with brass handles.
New worktops and sinks fitted to replace tired ones, with neat joins, clean cut-outs and careful sealing. A quick upgrade that changes the whole kitchen, and a job customers say he did efficiently and to a high standard.
Splashback tiles, metro tiles and cooker hoods fitted so the finishing touches match the quality of the units. Customers praise the outstanding quality and the attention to every detail around sockets, corners and edges, so the whole wall looks finished.
Internal doors hung to perfection, even in wonky houses, plus skirting boards and general carpentry. Gianluca gives clear advice and suggests improvements, and works quietly and considerately around busy family homes, even with a newborn in the house.
Made to measure tables, benches and storage in plywood and timber, and room conversions such as turning a downstairs bathroom into an office, a smaller WC and a utility area. Each piece is built to fit the space exactly.

Gianluca was recommended by a builder. We could not be happier with his work. He was presented with a room that wasn't square or level. A kitchen supplied without installation instructions and he took it in his stride. Nothing was a problem, he took all the stress away. He was punctual and did a full days work. We could not be happier with his professionalism and work ethic. We were sorry to see him go, and are already trying to think of more things we can get him back to do.
If Gianluca hasn't fitted your kitchen, I would question if it's been fitted right.
Thank you Gianluca, you sir are a credit to the building industry.
We recently had our cooker hood and kitchen tiles fitted by Gianluca, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. He was an absolute pleasure to have in the house, friendly, easy to talk to, and attentive to every detail. The quality of his work is outstanding, and it’s clear he takes real pride in what he does. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled, reliable, and personable tradesman. We’re already planning to have him back for a few more jobs!
Another great job done by Gianluca! 6 doors were fitted to perfection (even with the difficult circumstances of our wonky house!). Excellent attention to detail, clear communication (even suggesting recommendations which we are glad we took on board!) and was incredibly considerate of his working environment (we had a 7 week old in the house at the same time!). Looking forward to our next project together.
Gianluca recently redid our kitchen worktops and sink, and we couldn't be happier with the result. He was efficient, hardworking, punctual, and a pleasure to have around. His professionalism and attention to detail really stood out, and it was clear he took pride in his work. We would happily recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and reliable carpenter.
We couldn’t recommend Gianluca enough.
He transformed our downstairs bathroom into an office space, smaller WC with utility area.
His attention to detail, care, tidyness and skills are second to none. It is a pleasure to have him around!
We already have him booked in to fit our kitchen into our new home..
Thanks again Gianluca!
